How does this all work?

It all starts with you and your crazy idea.

Think of any cool project that you and your fellow Fans would pay good money to see brought to life. Launch a campaign and designate a Creator as the potential funding recipient: the person or group you’re petitioning to make it all happen.

Then, pledge your support and spread the word! The more Fans pledge, the harder it is for Creators to ignore.

Once you’ve inspired the Creator with your great idea and growing pledges, they’ll set any necessary funding targets for triggering a successful campaign.

Then do it all over again with another awesome idea. Or explore and discover another Fan’s campaign to support.

So anyone can launch a campaign?
Yup. We’ve put the power to launch campaigns in the hands of Fans. Fan of vinyl? Get your favorite album pressed. Fan of science and nutrition? Fund a new study. Fan of board games? Get a deluxe version of a favorite game printed!

Get inspired, pledge boldly, rally other Fans, and convince your favorite Creator you’ve seen a future that has to happen.

Oh, and you can launch a campaign in just 3 easy steps—and 1 of those is ‘Review’.
How does this model even work?!
Fans know the future they want. Fans connect with other Fans. Fans already know they will spend money on really cool shit. This is just a pledge to do exactly that. If enough Fans pledge enough support toward a particular future, Creators will become inspired and discover options and resources they didn’t even know they had!
Where are the rewards? What do Fans actually get?
First and foremost, Fans get to help create the incredible future laid out in the campaign goal. Pledge what that specific goal and experience itself is worth to you.

Second, if the campaign goal is a product or experience, Fans are always offered first dibs and any pledge they’ve made will apply directly toward that central reward when the Creator sets final campaign targets. And if a Creator offers any additional bonus rewards, all Fan pledges can be reshuffled toward those rewards too.
So when does FanFuture take my money? And how much of that does the Creator really get?
Fans are only ever charged for a pledge when a campaign successfully funds and the Creator has agreed to deliver the goal of the campaign. 

We require a valid credit card upfront for all pledges only so Creators can be confident the funds are genuinely available and committed before they agree to tackle the project.

A typical dollar pledged breaks down like this: ~85% To the Creator; 7.5% FanFuture Administration Fee; 1% Charitable Giving by FanFuture; 1% Suggested Charitable Match by Creator; ~2.5% Stripe Card Processing Fees; ~2.5% BackerKit for world class Campaign Management.
RISK?!
What if the Creator says no? Or they hate the whole thing?! Or they love it but they fail to deliver? Or they change everything I pledged toward?

We strive to provide a win-win-win environment for Fans, Creators and charities. There will always be some risk in crowdfunding models, but we’ve taken steps to address those risks and to build the strongest, most positive and successful creative community we can.

4 BIG assurances we offer:
1) If a Creator says no, then no one is charged;
2) If a Creator makes big changes to the goal of the campaign, then Fans are allowed to withdraw or adjust their pledge;
