Origin Story
FanFuture was started by three childhood friends (a doctor, a lawyer, and a writer) who share an admittedly odd passion for crowdfunding.
Collectively (and far from exhaustively) we’ve helped fund: a high end cold-press juicer, the world’s best golf belt, a Bible without chapter and verse, local journalism in Chicago, a podcast that created and reported on the life of a T-shirt, and far too many board games.
Our desire is to see crowdfunding evolve, becoming more intuitive, creative, fun and communal by placing the crowd—the Fans—first.
We also share a common belief that our foundational calling in life is to love boldy, seek justice, and point to the true & the good.
That calling isn’t just reflected in our business practice it’s amplified, because to whom much is given much is expected.

We have a clear sense of the company we desire to be.
As we scale and grow, meeting these goals will be top of mind as we chart our path forward.
Along the way, the same values that inspire these goals will guide us as we make every related ‘business’ decision, because who we are in business shouldn’t be any different from who we are in the rest of our life.

Carbon Negative Goal
We want to minimize our overall impact on the environment.
We’re aiming to be fully Carbon Negative as soon as possible with every future TON of CO2 we expend being offset by 2 TONS so that as we scale our positive impact scales with us.
We encourage Founders and Fans to work together to make their campaigns Carbon Negative, and for Creators to build into their Reward Targets funding to remain Carbon Negative from end-to-end.
We’re partnering with WREN to offer offsets that are thoroughly researched and vetted.
B-Corp Goal
We want to lead the industry with respect to how we treat our employees, Fans and business partners.
So we’ve set a goal of becoming B-Corp certified as well and every early decision we make as we grow and shape this community and company is made with that goal in mind.
