Incognito
This Campaign hasn’t caught the eye of the intended Creator yet.
By default, due to the practical demands of space-time* and logic, ALL campaigns start Incognito. Although most will rapidly jump to On Radar if Fan’s do what Fan’s are best at…getting things to go viral.

On Radar
The intended Creator is aware our campaign exists!
Most campaigns make this leap when we see a Creator mention us on social media, usually because they can’t ignore the flood of mentions and shares coming their way.
But we don’t always see what you see, so if you think there’s a blip on the radar that we missed, please send the receipts our way. You can find us glued to Twitter @FanFutureCom
Note that sometimes a campaign lists multiple possible Creators or simply lists qualifications for a Creator. In these cases we place a campaign On Radar when at least ONE viable Creator takes notice. Then we do our best to be transparent in the UPDATES TAB on the campaign when/if additional potential Creator(s) pop up.
In Negotiation
The Creator is working with us to dial in campaign targets and details!
PLEASE remember that not all negotiations are successful!
It is entirely possible that–for very understandable reasons–a campaign never moves out of this stage or even closes the door entirely at this stage. That doesn’t mean the Creator is a bad person or they weren’t acting in good faith or they were greedy or naive etc. etc.
In Negotiation simply means the Creator is actively exploring with us whether there is a viable win-win path forward and what the terms and targets of that campaign would need to look like.
Also remember that the Founder IS NOT the one dealing directly with the Creator, that falls to us. So if you want to get mad at anyone, be mad at us. We can take it. But we won’t permit anyone calling out the Founder or the Creator, cool?
Target Set
The Creator has set specific funding or deadline targets for Fans to reach.
This is the pivotal moment really.
This is a live future.
The Creator is ready to create the future laid out in the campaign provided Fans can reach the goals required to make it viable.
Those Targets usually include a pledge goal and a deadline, though some campaigns will be open ended and will fund successfully whenever the goal is met in…well, the future.
Funded
This campaign has reached its initial funding goals!
Boom goes the dynamite. We did it.
The future of this campaign is secured and the Creator will do their very best to make it reality.
As a rule, all funded campaigns remain open for a minimum of 14 days following whenever they reach 100% threshold. This allows for as many Fans as possible to join in. This also gives existing Fans a chance to reshuffle their own pledges toward any available rewards or to gently nudge the Creator toward creating stretch goals.
In the rare event where a Creator discovers a campaign and determines they can call it funded with the amount already pledged, the campaign may actually bypass Target Set but will still be given a closing date of 14 days out.
Stretch Funding
The main goals are met! Now new perks will be unlocked if additional goals are achieved.
Consider it an encore, another chance to dig a little deeper in your Fan budget to craft an even finer future and keep the party going deep into the night.
**Note that unlike the automatic 14 day extension of the timeline upon reaching Funded status, the Stretch Funding window can be set as the Creator sees fit and does not require any extended window as stretch goals are met, so don’t sleep on these bonus perks!
Completed
This Campaign was successfully funded and is no longer accepting pledges.
Annnnnd cut. That’s a wrap for our part.
Once a campaign reaches its funding goals on deadline, and the window provided for bandwagon Fans to pile on closes, we gently close the door on taking pledges and kick open the window to gaze at the new future.
Oh…and we start collecting the money. Pledges will generally process within 5 days of reaching completed. Stripe and our partners at BackerKit will facilitate all of the financial back and forth, so you can expect a smooth process with simple surveys headed your way to gather all your current billing and shipping information etc.
Note that at this stage, FanFuture takes our hands off the wheel and lets the Creator take control. It’s their ride now, and frankly we’re on it too since we’ve got the promise of some cool rewards coming our way as well so we’ll be tracking the progress along with you taking notes on how we might be able to better facilitate the end-to-end success of future campaigns even though our agency is limited once we collect and distribute the funds.
*re: time-space, please don’t @ us we’re not quantum physicists, we just love us a good Tardis and as a practical matter, the moment a campaign launches it is Incognito. Even Twitter can’t out run space-time…yet.
