We STRONGLY recommend that Founders do a quick search on the site before launching their own campaign and ask themselves if their idea is distinct and adds to the conversation. Sometimes, Founders discover that a closely related campaign already exists and the best path forward is to try and connect with the current Founder or to work with the Fans of the campaign to improve it, or fold your idea into the campaign. The best place for this kind of creative synergy is over on our forum.
Merging Campaigns
Occasionally, separate Founders may still launch closely related campaigns (maybe they missed each other, or were both in queue at the same time etc.) and a Creator may see a way to merge several campaigns into one.
Our campaign review team might also merge related campaigns during our review process, slowly folding the best parts of subsequent campaigns into one another. ‘Collabs’ the cool kids call it I think.
In such cases, we’ll work with the Creators and/or Founders to either fashion a new campaign or to adapt the most closely related campaign. Working together we may ask one Founder to serve as the figurehead for the campaign while also closing campaigns which might prove confusing to Fans as they seek opportunities to support this particular Creator.
Founders should take care to remember that they are ambassadors for both the Fan and FanFuture communities and should hold themselves to the highest community standards whenever advocating for their campaign.
